In preparation for the harvest of bountiful benefits from agriculture in the years to come, a foremost organization for Nigerian farmers; ALL FARMERS ASSOCIATION OF NIGERIA, AFAN, has inaugurated the Chapter Executives and Ward Leaders in Ibiono Ibom Local Government Area recently.
According to our reporter, the inauguration exercise which was held at the village Council Hall, Ikpa Ikot Uboh, Ibiono Ibom Local Government Area, almost turned out to become a mega rally for farmers in the area due to the words of encouragement and the benefits each member stands to achieve from known farmers in the state, including the State Chairman of ALL FARMERS ASSOCIATION OF NIGERIA, AFAN, Obong Tony Okpon, the representative of Ibiono Ibom Divisional Police Officer (DPO) and other successful farmers within and outside Ibiono Ibom Local Government Area.
The State Chairman of AFAN, Obong Tony Okpon, who performed the inauguration exercise described AFAN as one, indivisible and united body, whose cardinal objective is to support the government to provide a congenial environment for farmers to do better in terms of production of food and animal for human consumption.
While using the occasion to disabuse the minds of farmers about rumor of impending leadership tussle in AFAN, he admonished members of the newly inaugurated executive in Ibiono Ibom Local Government Area to always alert the security agents anytime they come in contact with any person or group of persons claiming to be working for AFAN as there is only one AFAN recognized by the national body.
Speaking further, he commended the efforts of AFAN members in Ibiono Ibom Local Government Area, for being proactive, sincere and committed to the ideas of AFAN, even as he encouraged them to go round the wards encourage and integrate new members; educating the people on the need to imbibe the ideals of AFAN. He equally promised them incentives, including provision of seeds, chemicals, Nine V-mobile, etc.
The newly inaugurated chapter coordinator of AFAN in Ibiono Ibom Local Government Area, Apostle (Prince) Ofonime A. Edet in his acceptance speech expressed appreciation to God Almighty for making the event a success. He commended members of AFAN at all levels for their support and encouragement towards the successful hosting of the event.
While promising to run and all inclusive administration where all the sensibilities and interests of all sections shall be placed on the table and accommodated, he urged members to burry sentiment and biases for the objectives to which AFAN was established can be fully actualized.

Azeal Azariah – Youth Representative, Mr. Christopher Ekpe – Ex-Officio I, Mr. Wilson Udo Udoh – Ex-Officio II.
