The push for unity and inclusion within the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Akwa Ibom State has gained momentum, with the Senior Special Assistant to Governor Umo Eno on Grassroots Mobilisation, Hon. Blessing Osom, rallying former candidates and party leaders ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The mobilisation, tagged *“Back to Unity Mobilisation,”* brought together former APC candidates, founding members and past ward and chapter executives to strengthen party cohesion, rebuild grassroots structures and promote greater participation in the party’s political activities.
A major highlight of the meeting was a call by Hon. Noah Noah on the Akwa Ibom State Government to give former aspirants and founding members greater consideration in government appointments, policies and programmes.
Noah said those who contributed to establishing and sustaining the APC should be recognised and adequately integrated into governance and the party’s political arrangements.
Responding to the concerns, the Senator representing Uyo Senatorial District, Senator Effiong Bob, and the Commissioner for Humanitarian Affairs, Princess Emem Ibanga, assured members of the Aborigine APC bloc that their interests would be accommodated under Governor Umo Eno’s administration.

The assurances came amid efforts to address concerns over inclusion and strengthen relationships among party stakeholders as the APC prepares for the next electoral cycle.
Speaking at the gathering, Osom urged party members to put their differences aside, rebuild trust and work collectively to consolidate the APC’s grassroots presence across the state.
She emphasised the need for sustained engagement with party members and the electorate, noting that unity and cooperation would be crucial to the party’s preparations for the 2027 general elections.
The governor’s aide also encouraged eligible voters to remain abreast of the electoral process and participate actively in voter sensitisation and other civic activities ahead of the polls.
Those at the meeting included former House of Assembly candidates who contested between 2015 and 2023, former chairmanship and vice-chairmanship candidates, and councillorship candidates who participated in elections between 2015 and 2024.

The *“Back to Unity Mobilisation”* is designed to rebuild confidence among party members, promote inclusion and strengthen grassroots networks as political activities intensify ahead of the 2027 general elections.
