Coalition of Nigerian Youth Leaders have demanded immediate retraction from Senator representing Kogi Central, Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan over accusations of the Senate President, Senator Godswill Akpabio for sexual harassment.
In a release signed on behalf of the coalition by Chief Victor Thompson-Niger Delta (Akwa Ibom) and Hon. Salisu S. Pawa-Northern Nigeria Peoples Congress and made available to newsmen, the group said Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan’s blatant disregard for the rules of the Senate was a slap on the institution and its members.
“We, the Coalition of Nigerian Youth Leaders, will not stand idly by while Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan continues to insult the intelligence of Nigerians and undermine the institutions that govern our nation.
“Natasha Akpoti Uduaghan has proven to be a bad example to her generation and the ones after. And the world will remember her for her manipulative and unscrupulous tendencies.
“We demand that Senator Natasha Akpoti Uduaghan immediately retract her false allegations and apologize to the Senate President and the institution as a whole. The Senate is not a Night Club, we must protect the dignity of the hallowed chamber.
“We call on the Nigerian Senate to completely disregard the petition submitted by Natasha Akpoti Uduaghan and refrain from using tax payers resources to investigate such fraudulent accusations.
“We demand the immediate recall of Senator Natasha Akpoti Uduaghan and a conduct of a fresh election that will produce a fit and proper occupant for the exalted office.
“Natasha Akpoti Uduaghan’s suspension must not be reduced at anytime, else such decision will be met with stiff opposition by the Nigerian Public.”
The coalition vowed if the Senate spend tax payers money to investigate the allegation, they will not hesitate to occupy the National Assembly in ways no one, death or alive, has ever witnessed in this country.
