The Honorary Special Adviser to the Akwa Ibom State Governor on Creative Industry, Dr. Aity Dennis has bagged a Lifetime Achievement Award in Creative Industry and Cultural Diplomacy at the prestigious Pan African-American Leadership Awards (PAALA) 2026 held on Saturday, August 15, in Washington, D.C., United States.
Dr. Aity, a frontline creative industry practitioner and cultural diplomat, was recognised for her contributions to the creative industry, cultural diplomacy and the advancement of African creative talent.
Adding a vibrant cultural dimension to the ceremony, the organisers invited Aity Dennis to perform her song, “You Blow My Mind.” Her performance sparked an energetic dancing and celebration session among attendees and fellow honourees, creating one of the memorable moments of the event.

Reflecting on the recognition, she said the experience reinforced her belief that the world is watching and that the efforts people make every day, even when unnoticed, can eventually be recognised and magnified.
She described the event as “very grand and impressive,” noting that the presence of honourees from different parts of the world underscored the multi-ethnic and global character of the PAALA.
According to her, the recognition is a reminder to remain focused, continue serving and refuse to allow challenges to derail one’s purpose.
The gospel music icon dedicated the award to God Almighty as well as to her husband, Dr. Dennis Inyang, and her sister, Ikoedem, for their support.
She also thanked Dr. Elisha Attai and the PAALA organising team for the honour, while appreciating Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, PhD, and the Government of Akwa Ibom State for the platforms provided for her to serve and impact society.

The PAALA 2026 brought together accomplished leaders and professionals from across sectors and continents, with distinguished honourees from Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, Germany, Jamaica and other countries, highlighting the global and multicultural scope of the prestigious awards while celebrating excellence, leadership, dedication and contributions to African development and global impact.
