The Banquet Hall of the State Government House, Uyo, on Thursday morning was filled to capacity as a cross section of Akwa Ibom women converged for the inaugural Monthly Prayer Meeting under the leadership of the Governor’s wife, Pastor Patience Umo Eno.
With the theme:“The Sound of the New”, the women offered high praise and worship to God Almighty for His grace upon the state.
Speaking at the event, Pastor Patience Umo Eno who was clad in her priestly apparel, urged women in the state to exercise total faith in God if they are to receive speedy answers to their prayers.
Mrs. Eno who noted that God answers the prayers of women faster and better, maintained that no one has ever regretted trusting on God.
She thanked God for His grace which has found her at this point to lead women in the state, and acknowledged that the privilege is, “rare could only come from God alone.”
The Governor’s wife also took out time to thank the immediate past Governor of the state and wife, for being a channel through which God used to elevate her husband to the throne and specially prayed God to bless and reward them bountifully.
She further expressed optimism that the prayer meeting would herald God’s blessings on not just the women who will avail themselves every month, but will benefit the entire Akwa Ibom by ushering in peace, prosperity and development.
Earlier, the First Lady had inaugurated an eleven-member team for the monthly prayer project. They include; Bishop Enobong Essien (Patron of the prayer group), Pastor Ime Owo (prayer diretor), Rev. Utibeno A. John-Udoh, (Provost)Pastor Idongesit Essienobong.

Citing an instance from Genesis chapter one, Rev. Utibeno who said that God always begins new things with a sound, assured members at the service that the release of the sound from God would bring creative miracles and restorations on their lives.
She prayed that the same sound would restore total peace in areas where there may be violence and unrest in the state.
The prayer service which featured songs, bible readings, prayer sessions also had a special thanksgiving session by the women for a smooth and peaceful transition.
