The Chairman, Ikot Ekpene Local Government Transition Committee, Sir John Cleton Etim has assured local government staff in Ikot Ekpene of his commitment to ensuring improved welfare and a conducive environment for them.
Sir Etim gave the assurance yesterday during an enlarged meeting with the leadership and members of the Nigerian Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE) Ikot Ekpene Chapter, led the Chairman, Comrade Emmanuel Akpan Ekane, held at the Old Council Secretariat.
The council boss appealed for cooperation to ensure smooth and harmonious working environment, peaceful coexistence and assured the workers he would leave no stone unturned in giving what is due to them.
The TC Chairman who described the Head Of Service as his mother, acknowledged the Staff and members of the union for their continuous support, hard work and dedication in the discharge of their duties,
Responding, the Head Of Local Government Service in Ikot-Ekpene, Dr (Mrs) Eno Akpa, appreciated the leadership style of the Transition Chairman, while assuring him of workers’ cooperation and support to ensure him discharge his duties.
The NULGE Chairman, Comr. Emmanuel Akpan Ekanem, on his part thanked Governor Umo Eno for giving Ikot-Ekpene the person of Sir. John Cleton Etim as Transition Committee Chairman, and assured the chairman of the Union’s cooperation through out his tenure.
Other members of the Union who spoke, applauded the TC Chairman for his kind gesture and for the new year gift to workers.
The meeting was also attended by the council secretary and management staff of the council.
