A former councillorship aspirant from Ini local government area, Prince Lawrence Williams Akpan, who was apprehended by the Police for stealing Toyota Land Cruiser Jeep V8 2016 Model along Uyo/Ikot Ekpene Road at Okobo Ibiono Ibom, was said to have also organised herbalists to kill his benefactor and former House of Representatives aspirant, Barr. Ita Ukpabio.

In an exclusive interview, Barr. Ita Ukpabio disclosed that he got to know Lawrence through Isaiah Uyeh, whom he said brought him so that he could assist Lawrence financially for his councillorship aspiration.
Ukpabio explained that he gave Lawrence money when he wanted to contest as councilor, adding that when he came back for the House of Representatives primary, he Lawrence stayed with him for months but never knew his intentions.
“He has been stealing people’s properties. Lawrence stayed in my house for four to five months in shelter Afrique. I came back to my house, opened my room and discovered my properties were stolen including wrist watch, kaftan and many other things.
“One day, my security called me that Lawrence has come to carry my car. He brought people from Aba to buy my car 40m naira.
“Mr Lawrence bugled my house, stole my car to sell in Aba and police apprehended him and his gang. He also brought fetish man to bury juju in my house that he wants me dead to take over my property.
“He brought people to kill me and my security. He took my security to cut his head and told the Police he wanted to sell the car so that he could use it to travel abroad.
It can be recalled that on December 8, 2022, Akwa Ibom State Police command paraded Lawrence Akpan as a suspected car snatcher who through a coordinated actionable intelligence, was accosted with a Toyota Land Cruiser Jeep V8 2016 Model belonging to Ita Ukpabio along Uyo/Ikot Ekpene Road at Okobo Ibiono Ibom.
Lawrence Akapn is hailed from Ebo in Itu Mbonuso, Ini Local Government Area.
