Ahead of March 18th governorship election, Akwa Ibom Christian Assembly ACA, has endorsed Obong Bassey Albert Akpan OBA of the Young Progressive Party (YPP) as the next governor of Akwa Ibom State.
The endorsement come yesterday during the group state prayer held at Destiny International Missions, Ewet Housing Estate, Uyo.
The group in an announcement publicly asked its members to vote for YPP come March 18th, governorship election.
Speaking before the endorsement, the President General of the group, ACA, Archbishops Cletus Bassey wondered if it is the time to collect money from politicians and sell out conscience with money that cannot pay for house rent or children school fees.
“It is time to collect money and sell conscience. Is it time to count in dollars and sell your conscience or is it a time to sell trust for a money that cannot pay your rent or children school fees- every man has the right to contest elections and I have the right to vote for who I want to vote” Cletus Bassey noted
The President General of the group, ACA, Archbishop Cletus Bassey and other ordained ministers across the 31 Local Government Areas of the state prayed and released Obong Bassey Albert Akpan to stand election come March 18th into the office of the governor in Akwa Ibom State.
“This Saturday, I released you as you stand election into the office of the governor. Today, I open the door of the government house for you” President, ACA prayed.
However, Archbishop Bassey revealed threats he has received, plans to kidnap and shoot him from people because of what he stands for but he drew courage from Psalms 91:1 “He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.”
The prayer submit had in attendance Obong Bassey Albert and wife, other dignitaries.
