Deeper Life High School, Uyo Campus, held its 3rd Valedictory Service on Saturday, July 20, marking a significant moment for Zara Ezenwoko, the top performer in the 2024 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and 37 other graduating students who achieved scores of 300 and above in the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) exam this year.
The ceremony, themed “Torch Bearers”, which took place at the school’s multipurpose hall, served as a celebration of the students’ dedication and accomplishments.
It symbolized the start of a new chapter for the graduates, with notable guests such as government officials, top military and security personnel, Deeper Life Bible Church regional overseers across the state, and families coming together to show their support.
The school Principal, Mrs. Victoria Nguma, expressed the campus’s pride in presenting Zara Ezenwoko as the highest scorer in the Deeper Life schools network, with an impressive aggregate of 365 placing her among Nigeria’s top six performers.
“Besides having the highest score on campus, we also produced 15 students who achieved a score of 300 and above, as well as 31 out of the 38 students who scored between 250 and 255. We are trusting in God for excellence in the recently completed WAEC and the ongoing NECO,” Nguma said.
The Principal highlighted that the school has provided students with opportunities to take international exams, opening doors for foreign scholarships, university admissions abroad, and a seamless transition into overseas tertiary institutions.

She stated that the school has undergone remarkable transformation in terms of infrastructure, in line with the ARISE Agenda of the Akwa Ibom State Government. This, she noted, includes a significant farm project that has exposed students to advanced technology in animal husbandry and crop production.
Additionally, Mrs Nguma mentioned that the school management is currently enrolling students into Junior Secondary School Class 1, welcoming transfer students from other campuses, even as she assured parents and guardians that their children would excel in academics, morals, and spirituality under the school’s care.
In her valedictory remarks, Miss Zara Ezenwoko, the valedictorian and top graduating student of the 2023/2024 session, stated that she overcame obstacles and achieved her goals through hard work and perseverance.
“With determination, I strived for excellence. I optimized my study time, adapting methods that worked best for me. Indeed, my six years in Deeper Life High School, Uyo Campus, has been a transformative journey.
“I attribute my success to God’s guidance and the unrelenting support of the school’s exceptional staff. I appreciate the school’s commitment to academic excellence, character development, and spiritual growth,” Ezenwoko said, expressing gratitude to her parents for their love and support.
Earlier during the church service, Pastor Okon Uyom, overseer of Essien Region of Deeper Life Bible Church, delivered an inspiring sermon challenging graduates to be “The True Torch Bearers” and spread the gospel of Christ to all corners of the world.
The event also included a prayer for the graduating students by Pastor Emmanuel Amaeze, State Overseer of Deeper Christian Life Ministry Akwa Ibom State, orchestra performances, the launch of Eagles Digest students’ magazine, the presentation of plaques and subject awards, a valedictory lecture by Prof. Richard Ajah, and the commissioning of a project by a representative of the governor.
