The Christian youths have commended the Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Pastor Umo Eno for his excellent people-focused governance since inception of office.
The Christian youths made this commendation on Thursday during a courtesy call on the Senior Special Assistant (SSA), Christian Youths to the Governor, Apostle Barr. Samuel B. Inyang in his office, Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.
The Christian youths, drawn from major churches in the State and Fathers In Faith for Good Governance, led by Rev’d Dr. Emem Jacob, General Overseer, Christian Fellowship Evangelical Nigeria, visited the SSA to express satisfaction of the Christian youths over his appointment by Pastor Umo Eno to lead them.
Speaking at the event, Rev’d Emem Jacob said the purpose for the meeting was to felicitate the SSA and express, “heartfelt thanks to the Governor of Akwa Ibom State, His Excellency, Pastor Umo Bassey Eno, for recognizing and uplifting the role of Christian youth in our State,” adding that, the Governor’s support and commitment to the Christian youths was not only commendable but also “a testament to your belief in their potentials to effect positive change in our society.”
Also, the Christian youths stated that the visit was necessary to help them build strong relationship with the office of the SSA. ” We want to assure you that this visit will build a formidable collaboration among various churches through their youth leadership, ” the Christian youths stated in their remarks.
The Christian youth leaders, which had representation in each of the LGAs of the State, further eulogized the Governor for his unwavering commitment to the well-being of the Christian community and the entire citizens.
“As a pastor, you carry a unique understanding of the challenges and aspirations that our young people face. Your heart for youth shines brightly in your policies and initiatives, which provide them with opportunities for growth, education and spiritual enrichment,” the Christian youths said.
In his response, the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor, Apostle Barr. Samuel B. Inyang, expressed gratitude to the Christian youths for their contributions to the emergence of Pastor Umo Eno as the Governor.
While the SSA sought the support of Christian youth leaders for the ARISE Agenda, he admonished them to take adavantage of the many youth empowerment opportunities of the Governor, such as entrepreneurship training at Ibom LED and Dakkada Skills Acquisition Center. He sensitized them on how to avail themselves with employment through the employment portal announced by the Governor recently, the farming and agribusiness opportunities in the State.

He counselled the leaders to remain loyal to the programmes and policies of Pastor Umo Eno and propagate the Governor’s achievements to other youth bodies in the State.
“For us as a church, we believe strongly in Pastor Umo Eno, we must support him throughout the administration. He is a representative of the church, and he will help us do more in our evangelism. Our uppermost challenge should be how we can bring more youths into the church. We should be bold enough to declare that we are Christian youths and we belong to Jesus.”
Apostle Inyang, while asserting that he will speak for the Church-based youth leaders, urged all to work as a team, as
everyone, according to him, has something to contribute to get a collective results.
Meanwhile, the SSA had on Wednesday visited Prelate Prof. Isaiah Issong for his blessings. He said the visit was to honour the Prelate as the spiritual father and brief him of his appointment as SSA, Christian Youths. He was, however, prayed for, as Prelate Issong invoked blessings for the success of his role in the Christian community and governance.
