The Akwa lbom State Accountant General, Pastor Uwem Andrew-Essien has charged Christians in the World to acknowledge the fact that Jesus Christ paid the supreme price on the cross for the redemption of man and salvation of souls.
The state Accountant General stated this in his office during the Easter season.
He said salvation was made possible by the death of Christ and charged Christians to understand that the season was set aside for remembrance, and to commemorate the death of Christ who paid the supreme price at the cross of Calvary.
Pastor Andrew-Essien noted that the reason Jesus Christ came to the world was to empathize and sympathize with human race.
Pastor Essien explained that Easter was not only set aside for ordinary celebration as many people perceive, but a period where Christians should ponder over the suffering and pains Jesus Christ passed through at Calvary while offering Himself as a sacrificial lamb for the redemption of mankind and redemption of man.
He called on Christians to understand that the death of Christ brought salvation to mankind and therefore should be celebrated with caution and fear of God.
He appealed to Christians to always ponder over what Jesus Christ went through on the cross of Calvary for humanity sake, pray for forgiveness of sins and turn a new leaf.
The Accountant General urged Christians to acknowledge the fact that they never worth dying for, but because of exceptional love Christ has for mankind that made Him to physically offer Himself as a sacrificial lamb; passed through pains, affliction and all forms of torture for the sake of humanity.
Pastor Uwem Andrew, while calling on Christians to see the season as opportunity to spread the gospel, win and convert souls to Christendom, advised against using the season for ungodly practices.
