Akwa Ibom State Government in partnership with the National Industrial Skills Development Programme (NISDP) has trained 200 youths across the state in different trade areas to facilitate the transformation of growing unemployed youth population into national assets. The Executive Chairman, Akwa Ibom State  Board of Internal Revenue Service(AKIRS), Mr. Okon Okon, said the adoption of Single Interstate Road Tax Sticker (SIRTS) and the Single Haulage Fee (SHF) initiative of the Joint Tax Board (JTB), will end multiple taxation and  improve the ease of doing business in the state. The village head of Ituk Mbang Community in Uruan Local Government Area, Eteidung Emmanuel Edet Bassey JP, has denied any financial inducement from any herdsmen to allow their cattles to continue to domicile in his community even as he has decried the herdsmen invasion. The recent demolition of some properties within the Abak Local Government main motor park has triggered a cold war between the leadership of the council headed by Pastor Ekerette Inyang and the leadership of National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), headed by one Obong George.
