Rt. Hon. Ekperikpe Ekpo, Nigeria’s Minister of State, Petroleum Resources (Gas), has said that the just concluded APC National Convention is a testament to the unity of purpose and oneness that exist in the party.
Ekpo made the remarks while expressing his thoughts on the conduct of the APC elective National Convention, tagged Abuja 2026.
More than eight thousand Delegates from across the thirty-six states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory gathered over the weekend at the Eagles Square for a national convention to elect the new National Working Committee for the ruling party.
Speaking after the convention, Ekpo said the convention was a great success. He commended the peaceful nature every activity was conducted, adding that such reflected the true ideals of the party.

”As you can see, the convention has been a huge success, but I have to point out the peaceful atmosphere in which every activity was conducted at the convention. This truly reflects the ideals of our great party” the minister said.
The gas minister commended President Bola Tinubu on his leadership, which he said had taken the party to enviable heights and outstanding successes, noting that the President’s sterling leadership made thousands of delegates that attended the convention to speak with one voice.
He described the feats recorded at the convention as sign of a healthy and strong party.
”What you have witnessed today is a reflection of the good leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. Today, Nigeria, and indeed, the entire world witnessed a united party that spoke with one voice. These are signs of a healthy and strong party and I can tell you that this is due to the effective leadership Mr. President has provided” he said.
Ekpo, who was one of the delegates from Akwa Ibom State also commended the governor of the state, Pastor Umo Eno for successfully leading Akwa Ibom delegates to the convention.
While congratulating the APC National Chairman, Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, and other members of the National Working Committee elected at the convention, Ekpo expressed confidence that the new NWC will lead the party to resounding electoral victories across all the states in the 2027 general elections and beyond.
