An international Anti-Corruption Non-Governmental Organisation: Centre for Ethics and Self Value Orientation has ranked the Akwa Ibom State Chapter of Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE) as 3rd least corrupt state Chapter in Nigeria.
The ranking came as a result of an independent survey carried out by the NGO in which the Chapter scored 77% to emerge 3rd out of 10 state Chapters in the country and 1st in South-South.

CESVO is an international anti-corruption NGO based in Lokoja, Kogi State, which majors in exposing corruption, promoting ethical leadership, providing ethical education and self-value orientation of global citizens.
According to the Executive Director of the Center, Ethicist (Prince) Salih Musa Yakubu, after a six (6) months independent secret assessment conducted by the centre in all the States of the Federation, a tripartite award for the State Branch of NULGE, the State President and State Officers was recommended for their services to humanity and dexterity in quality service delivery in the Union.
The State President Comrade Anestina Iweh was honoured with the Ethical Leadership and Conduct Compliance Award having been enlisted amongst the top 100 highly rated most ethically upright/least corrupt leaders in Nigeria. She was also inducted into the Centre’s Hall of Fame as; the Integrity Icon Of Nigeria (IION).
The Centre also presented a letter of commendation to the State Officers for their Outstanding Professional Ethics Compliance and Quality Citizens Service Delivery in NULGE Management and Administration in Nigeria.
Receiving the award, the State President Comr Anestina Iweh IION said she never knew people were observing and assessing the activities of the union and opined that the award was a pleasant surprise.
She furthered that the award was made possible through the hard work and cooperation of the State Executive Council and dedicated the award to all members.
In their separate remarks, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Elder Ini Ikie, and the National Vice President South-South, Comrade Owoanam Akpanwa, congratulated NULGE Akwa Ibom State and its leadership, for being singled out to be honoured by the Centre for Ethics and Self Value Orientation.
They commended Comr Anestina Iweh and her team for always being passionate about the welfare of the Union members, not being confrontational in her approach to staff matters and maintaining a cordial working relationship with the government of the day which has earned the Union the awards while encouraging the Union to continue in promoting ethical leadership in its affairs.
