“ EmeBest Foundation is a Foundation that is into uplifting women and children in a world where we feel men rule. This is not a bad thing, but I think we need to uplift women and children, especially in a country like Nigeria.
“ I grew up in a society where it was like female children were not enough. I am here to say that every female child is enough. Here in Akwa Ibom, particularly, there is a feeling that the male child is everything. But I’m here to uplift my gender; to say no, we can do it. So, I’m doing this because I know that they are suffering.
“ For this yuletide season, we are giving out a lot of food items, engaging in educational uplift. We are also visiting orphanages and hospital around Uyo to pay hospital bills and make donations as well”.
Mrs. Eme Monday, who recalled how she started engaging in uplifting women and children five years ago, said the Foundation decided this year to broaden the scope and bring it forward, as a humanitarian entity that has come to uplift women and children.
She disclosed that the Foundation was working on plans to open food pantry where women and children would be given food on monthly basis, stressing that the whole idea was nothing short of uplifting the women and children in the society.

Mr. Udoidem, who is an indigene of Ikot Inyang, Eka Uruk Eshiet, Etim Ekpo Local Government Area, said it became necessary for the Foundation to turn attention to the women and children, considering the fact that these segments of the society had always been affected by inequality.
“ We are focusing on women and children because if you look at our society, you see the very people who are affected by inequality. Therefore, we are coming to rescue the women and the children. That is why we established EmeBest Foundation”.
Also giving a perspective as to why EmeBest Foundation was conceived, a member of the Board of Trustees of the Foundation, Mrs. Ubong Charles Udoetuk, added that the Foundation came as a child of circumstance to support the women and children, particularly the poor ones, in raising a shoulder for them to lean on.
