Hon. Okpolupm Etteh, member representing Eket/ONNA/Esit Eket/Ibeno Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, has charged them to strive for peace and unity for sustainable progress, development and prosperity of the state.
Hon. Etteh, who made this known through his anniversary message on Saturday, said it is essential to “make the 36 Anniversary a special one by renewing our commitment and dedication to work for the unity and prosperity of our dear state, as laid down by the ARISE Agenda of the Pastor Umo Eno-led administration.”
Speaking further, Hon. Etteh, who is the Deputy Chairman of the House Committee on University Education, said, “As we celebrate our pride, our heritage, our motherland at 36, I sincerely thank our dear Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, his deputy, Senator Akon Eyakenyi, and our forebears for the outstanding progress, peace and unity of Akwa Ibom State.”
“As we reflect on the remarkable journey that has brought us to this point, a journey marked by resilience, growth, and the unwavering spirit of unity, my message is obvious to the people of Akwa Ibom: peace and unity can only bring one thing, and it is prosperity, no prosperity without unity. So, I urge the people of Akwa Ibom to unite as a state and harness our resources as one people,” he added.
Hon. Etteh states, “The beauty of Akwa Ibom is that our cultures and traditions have woven for us into a rich tapestry of identity, making our state a unique and vibrant place to call home.”
“As we celebrate this milestone, let us not forget the sacrifices and hard work of our forebears, paving the way for our progress. It is our responsibility to carry forward the legacy of their dedication and commitment to our state’s development,” Hon. Etteh stressed.
“As we raise our voices in celebration and our flags high in the sky, remember that our Akwa Ibom is not just a geographical entity. It is a living, breathing community of people bound by a common dream of a brighter future for ourselves and future generations. We have grown together as a community, making strides in education, healthcare, infrastructure, and economic development. Our state has become a hub of innovation and opportunity, attracting talent and investments from near and far. Together, we have shown that when we work as one, there is no limit to what we can achieve,” he maintained.
