Women In Nature Conservation Organisation (WINCO) (GLFx Uyo Chapter), with support from Global Landscapes Forum (GLF) in partnership with the Centre for International Forest Research (CIFOR) and World Agroforestry Centre (ICRAF), is looking for 3 interns to be trained and engaged on field activities and on-going WINCO and GLFx Uyo community projects.
This is contained in a statement signed by the chief executive officer of the organisation, Mrs Emem Umoh and made available to the Pioneer.
According to the statement, interested applicants must possess the underlisted requirements: He/ she must currently be a student or recent graduate in a conservation-related course and be a team player and passionate in building a career in conservation.
Others are: he /she must have prior participation in a restoration project as an individual or in a group, be between 18 and 35 years and must be resident in Nigeria, preferably in Akwa Ibom state and the FCT where WINCO – GLFxUyo project sites and ongoing community-based activities are located.
The Job Description include, taking part actively in the ongoing nursery operations to nurture an estimated 1,000 economic tree species, participate in field practical training, conservation education, ecosystem restoration, agroforestry and empowerment activities aligned with the strategic plans for the ongoing WINCO (GLFx UYO Chapter), ECOSUF, CReFuP, and Ibom Greener projects and exhibitions.
The intern would also explore aspects of policy engagement and to connect with the GLF youth team to ensure youth perspectives feed into GLF events and YIL programs, register and be an active member of Youth in Landscape Programme (YIL), WINCO-GLFx Uyo and GLF Youth Regional Project Team for Africa and participate in GLFx community meetings and any approved WINCO roles.
