Hon. Okpolupm Etteh, the Deputy Chairman of the House Committee on University Education and the Member representing Eket/ONNA/Esit-Eket/Ibeno Federal Constituency, is set to fulfill one of his campaign promises by launching a comprehensive capacity-building programme focused on Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Professional competency development.
This initiative, which completely reflects his commitment to human capital development, is specifically designed to empower the youths of his federal constituency.
A statement by his Media Unit explained that the training, scheduled to run from August 26, 2024, to September 14, 2024, will take place at the Federal Constituency Office located at 79 RCC Road, Eket.
The programme aims to equip participants with essential skills and certifications in HSE, a field that is increasingly becoming vital in various industries, including oil and gas, construction, and manufacturing.
“In his campaign, Hon. Etteh emphasized the importance of investing in the future of the constituency’s youths by providing them with opportunities to develop professionally and economically. This HSE training is a significant step toward fulfilling that vision, offering participants the chance to enhance their employability and career prospects,” the statement maintained.

By empowering our youths with HSE knowledge, we are preparing them for opportunities in critical sectors and ensuring they have the tools to succeed in an increasingly competitive job market.”
The training will cover a broad range of topics, including workplace safety, environmental management, risk assessment, and emergency response procedures. Participants will receive professional certifications upon completion, making them more attractive to potential employers both within and outside the region.
This initiative underscores Hon. Etteh’s dedication to the growth and development of his federal constituency vis-à-vis Akwa Ibom State, as well as his commitment to ensuring that the youths have access to the resources they need to thrive.
The programme is expected to attract significant participation from across the federal constituency, and this, according to the statement, further solidifies Hon. Etteh’s reputation as a representative who delivers on his promises.
As the programme kicks off, all eyes will be on the Federal Constituency Office in Eket, where young participants will take their first steps toward building a safer and more prosperous future for themselves and their communities.
