The National Orientation Agency, NOA, has begun sensitization on national value charter and national anthem in Akwa Ibom State.
The nationwide sensitization began in Akwa Ibom State on Friday October 11, with a stakeholders’ meeting at the Federal Secretariat Uyo.
Speaking with newsmen in Uyo, Director, Orientation and Behaviour Modification (OBM), Barr. Tessy Nnalue noted that the essence of the sensitization is for Nigerians to reaffirm commitment to the National Values Charter, and also reverse to the old National Anthem, which she described as a symbol of our shared identity and heritage.

“The National Values Charter embodies the core principles that define us as Nigerians: tolerance, respect, understanding, democracy, human rights, and good governance. These values are the foundation upon which we build our nation.”
Nnalue who is representing the Director-General, Mallam Lanre Issa Onilu pointed that the Agency is committed to promoting civic education and awareness; engagement of stakeholders in value reorientation as well as foster partnerships for national development.
She averred that NOA is aimed at seeing a society where every citizen has equal opportunities; youth are empowered to drive innovation; communities are peaceful and harmonious.
In his remark, the State Director NOA, Mr. Mkpoutom Mkpoutom revealed that the Agency has adopted new methodologies in the fulfilment of its mandate to communicate government policies, programmes and activities to Nigerians.
He explained that different channels have been employed to disseminate government’s programmes and policies to citizens depending on their age-grade.
“For the young we have developed tools that can easily reach them within their lifestyle pattern. chief among them is our website which is now artifical inteligence enabled making it easier for you to seek information about the government on the go.”
He appealed for collaboration from different stakeholders in the state.
