The Coordinator of the Office of the First Lady, Lady Eno Obareki, has expressed her deep appreciation to the people of Akwa Ibom for their continuous initiatives and projects honouring the legacy of Pastor Patience Umo Eno.
Lady Obareki conveyed her gratitude on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, during the first anniversary celebration of the Chairman of Ibeno Local Government Council, Mrs Grace Ekah Effiong at Ulok Ulok Hall, Upenekang and the inauguration of the Patience Umo Eno Health Centre at Iwuokpom in Ibeno Local Government Area.

“I want to thank you so much on behalf of my family and I am sure I speak the mind of the Governor himself when I express deep appreciation for the health centre you have named in memory of my mom, Pastor Patience Umo Eno. That is very dear to our hearts and I want to convey our deep appreciation”, she said.
Lady Obareki commended the Chairman of Ibeno Local Government Council, Hon. Glory Effiong for effectively interpreting the visions of Governor Umo Eno and for demonstrating exceptional performance in her first year in office.

“I am proud of all of the achievements that you have made in such a short time. Truly, it has spoken to the ARISE Agenda of our Governor, Pastor Umo Bassey Eno, and you have shown other Local Government Areas that it is workable and doable. That is why I am proud to associate with you today as you celebrate your first Anniversary.”
The Chairman of Ibeno Local Government Council, Hon Glory Effiong, acknowledged the lofty contributions of Governor Umo Eno and Lady Helen Obareki to humanity through inclusive governance and people-centred development, as encapsulated in the ARISE Agenda, saying it has influenced her performance as chairman.
Hon. Effiong highlighted her administrations legacy project – the Ibeno Mega Project Initiative as a sustained commitment to improving infrastructure and enhancing the quality of life of the people by promoting self-reliance, productivity and economic stability with empowerment tools, while the Patience Umo Eno Health Centre is a way of celebrating her enduring virtue of compassion.

Earlier, the Head of Ibeno Local Government Service, Mr Ndaeyo Inuaeyen, lauded Mrs Effiong for encapsulating the economic blueprint to enhance good governance, promote unity, strengthen effective service delivery, excellence, transparency and accountability, describing her as a committed and dedicated leader.
Goodwill messages were presented by the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Mr Frank Archibong, the Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Welfare, Mrs Inibehe Silas and the representative of the Paramount Ruler of Ibeno, Chief Okon Udofia, who all noted that the number of projects initiated by the chairman is commendable. They also appreciated the Governor, Pastor Umo Eno for women inclusivity in governance, saying the confidence reposed on the Chairman has been well utilised.
The Coordinator of the office of the First Lady, later made a symbolic presentation of empowerment items to some beneficiaries, before proceeding to Iwuokpom community for the inauguration of the Patience Umo Eno Health Centre, where she expressed her joy over project.
“This is very personal because the facility is named after my mother, I pray that it stands as a testament to her legacy of compassion and as long as the doors are opened, people will walk in here and be healed and their lives will be changed for the better.”
Lady Helen Eno Obareki also visited with a woman who was delivered of a baby boy, at about 3:30am, the first baby born at the facility, the Pastor Patience Umo Eno Health Center Iwuokpom. She presented her with mother and baby packages as well as cash, appreciating God for a safe delivery.
Among the Coordinator’s entourage were, the wife of the Secretary to the State Government, Dr Inemesit Uwah, the wife of the former military governor, Mrs Funmi Idongesit Nkanga, the Commissioner for women Affairs and social welfare Hon. Inibehe Silas and the Special Adviser, Bureau of Cooperatives and Rural Development, Hon. Alice Ekpenyong.
