Ikot Ekpene Village Council has issued what it described as final warning to Mr. Leo Umana of Ikot Inyang village for making mockery of the traditional warning issued to him by the village council through his family head.
The village council described as unfortunate and sacrilegious Leo Umana’s decision to publicise on social media the sacred traditional injunction issued to him in good faith to enhance his clout chasing quest.
In letter dated 7th November, 2023 issued to Mr. Leo Umana of Ikot Inyang village in Ikot Ekpene local government area and signed by the Village Head Etteidung Edet Okon Akpan; Village Chairman, Abai David Udo Udo Umoren and the village secretary, Elder Cletus Ndiok, recalled that Leo had intentionally misinformed and misled the public by twisting fact and true situation that led to the issuance of the traditional injunction in order to attract sympathy and make jest of the of the Village council.

The letter reads in part;
“The attention of Ikot Ekpene Village Council has been drawn to a sacrilegious act and a dreadful path you have chosen to walk and therefore helpfully wish to warn and advise you as follows:
“That it is a total disrespect and insulting act to disregard and make mockery of the traditional warning issued to you by the prestigious Ikot Ekpene Village Council through your family Head warning you to stop insulting, harassing and attacking our beloved son, Engr. Etido Inyang.
“That it is very unfortunate of you to daringly take the sacred traditional injunction issued to you in good faith to social media just to aide your clout chasing quest.
“That disappointingly, in a contiuos intent to misinform and mislead the public, you deliberately twisted the fact and true situation that led to the issuance of the traditional injunction so as to attract undeserved sympathy and make jest of the helpful warning by the prestigious Village Council, an action capable of provoking the wrath of the Village Council.
“That the approach of mild fatherly warning was considered by the Council conscious of your relationship with our beloved son as you rightly know and always acknowledged.
“That it is despicable to hear that you accused our Son, Engr. Etido Inyang of masterminding, coercing and aiding the village Council to issue you the traditional warning, thereby having the guts to paint the prestigious Village Council in a bad light publicly.
“That this letter will be the last of its kind by the Ikot Ekpene Village Council in their attempt to warn you to desist from maligning, dragging, assaulting and threatening our Son anywhere any time, having earlier issued a formal traditional injunction to you in good faith which you chose to ignore, ridicule and turn it to social media stunt so as to earn ‘likes’, ‘comments’ and followers.
“That this letter is to serve as a manual to guide you on the traditional warning earlier issued to you through your family head which you mischievously describe as FETISH MATERIAL from our Son, Etido Inyang who, of course, had no prior-knowledge of the traditional warning from the Village Council to you.”
