Ibom Developers FZE has concluded a three-day Community Development Programme (CDP) for the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination(UTME) registration, supporting a total of 320 beneficiaries across six Local Government Areas in Akwa Ibom State.
The initiative forms part of the companies’ sustained annual education support programme. Ibom Developers FZE and Sterling Petrochemical and Fertilizer Limited have consistently organized free JAMB registration exercises as a yearly intervention aimed at promoting educational empowerment among youths in their host communities.
Beyond examination sponsorship, the companies also undertake other educational initiatives, including the distribution of textbooks and learning materials to schools, as well as support programmes designed to enhance academic excellence and access to higher education.

The exercise, held from Monday 23rd to Wednesday 25th at the Onna UTME Centre, benefitted students from Ikot Abasi, Oruk Anam, Ukanafun, Eastern Obolo, Etim Ekpo and Onna Local Government Areas.
Out of the 320 beneficiaries, 200 were sponsored directly by Ibom Developers FZE through the Ima Obolo Foundation specifically for indigenes of Eastern Obolo, while the remaining students were drawn from other host communities within the company’s areas of operation.
The initiative, which provided full logistics support for registration, is aimed at easing the financial burden on parents amid prevailing economic challenges and preparing young people for academic and professional success.
Addressing the students, the Base Manager of the company, Mr. Benjamin Isaac, urged them to take their studies seriously and choose relevant courses that would position them for future opportunities.
“This opportunity is not just about registration. It is about preparing you for the future. Work hard, excel in your examinations and make your communities proud,” he said.
Community Development Programmes Coordinator, Ms. Grace Inyang said the project targeted indigenes of the area with the zeal for education who may be discouraged from making attempts due to financial challenges.
Also present at the event was the Clan Head of Ete Clan, His Royal Highness Etebom Nsikak Udom, who commended the company for its commitment to educational development in the area.
The Industrial Chairman of Ikot Abasi Local Government Area, Hon. Ndifreke Hanson, encouraged the beneficiaries to justify the investment made in them through hard work and discipline. He further announced a one-year scholarship for five students who successfully gain admission through the process.
Some of the beneficiaries expressed appreciation to the company and its partners for the gesture, describing it as timely and impactful. They pledged to maximize the opportunity and strive for excellence in their academic pursuits.
Ibom Developers FZE described the programme as part of its broader corporate social responsibility efforts and reaffirmed its commitment to youth empowerment and sustainable community.
