The village head of Ituk Mbang Community in Uruan Local Government Area, Eteidung Emmanuel Edet Bassey JP, has denied any financial inducement from any herdsmen to allow their cattles to continue to domicile in his community even as he has decried the herdsmen invasion.
Making the denial when our reporter visited the community recently to ascertain the level of destruction perpetrated by the herdsmen, Eteidung Bassey who is also said to be suffering the damages caused by cattles, noted with dismay that the invasion is very unfortunate.
The youth leader of Ibiaku Eshiet Comrade Ndukwe Etim also decried the activities of Fulani herdsmen and promised to “call out the youths of the area to act if the security agents do not come to our rescue”.

Explaining his pains, the village head Ituk Mbang said, “since I was made the village head in 2020 no Fulani man has visited my palace, not to talk of inducing me with money to allow their cattle to stay here or pass through here”.
Also, the village head of Ibiaku Eshiet, Eteidung Asuquo has refuted the allegation of allowing herdsmen to stay in his domain. According to him, “how can I the village head that have been tolerating complains from widows and other villagers allow herdsmen to carry out their atrocities”
On his part, the youth leader, Comrade Etim vowed to mobilize the youth of the area, if nothing urgently is done to stop the menace of the herdsmen and their cattle.
