I’m not one who habitually smiles as a gesture or attitude, though an intermittent smile and laughter is recommended by phycologists as contributing greatly to one’s spiritual, physical and mental health.
But I was, however, consciously moved to profuse smiles upon smiles, throughout yesterday, on sighting online, a steady stream of flyers with different photographs of members of the Akwa Ibom electorates, predominantly young people, who have made a vow to vote in the March 11 Guber and State Assembly Elections for the PDP, basically because of one man.
On further cerebration, l thought to myself, this level of support for one party because of just one man would not have been possible without something he has done right, besides his massive philanthropic outreaches, massive charity, informed democratic beliefs and dogmas known to me. This, indeed once again, reminded me, that to live for oneself alone, is to die!
The literal extraction of a die-hard support, inner and irrevocable commitment from innumerable Akwa Ibom people to vote for all PDP Candidates across the State at the March 11 Gubernatorial and State Assembly Elections, by the renowned Oil and Gas Expert, Dr. Wisdom Patrick Enang, is one capacity too many.
The support, largely believed by pundits, to be compelled by the massive charity and philanthropic gestures of the highly revered Fellow of the Nigerian Society of Engineers over the years, has once again rekindled the age-long belief, that “kindness begets kindness.” This support has indeed rattled the different opposition camps.
Dr. Wisdom Enang, a relatively new entrant into Akwa Ibom politics, having already made his mark in the international Engineering scene at a relatively young age, has become a recurring decimal in the political arena.
This is so because, he ventured into the arena from the outset, with a truck-load of researched ideas which, once implemented, will totally overhaul the State’s infrastructure, human and economic posture.
Dr. Enang’s support for the Guber Candidate of the PDP, which has in turn induced numerous other supports, did not just come, until after a painstaking and careful research of all the blueprints articulated by all Guber candidates of the different contending political parties.
Dr Wisdom Enang is not just another man. His approach to life is driven by the quest to attain excellence in all that he does. This quest has seen him excelling not just educationally, but in all other theaters of life. Infact, in my personal assessment, he is ahead of both his age and time.
Infact, l have it on good authority that he has x-rayed all the blueprints submitted by the various Guber Candidates to the Akwa Ibom people, through their individual parties, and found that of Pastor Umo Bassey Eno to be holistic, timely, apt, value-driven and implementable, in light of the current economic situation in Nigeria today.
The untainted conviction that the policy thrust of Pastor Umo Eno is all-rounded and encompassing, in line with the 21st Century dynamics and democratic imperatives, induced him to submit himself to this camp.
Dr. Enang, an Adjutant Professor of the world famous North Dakota University, USA, did not only singularly embrace the Party and its Guber Candidate, Pastor Umo Eno, but in tune with his attitude, preached his dream for Akwa Ibom, capacity and personality, to thousands of young persons, all of voting age, who then decided on their own to vote for the party’s candidates in all elections, replicating what they already did on February 25.
People want to have and feel a sense of belonging before availing their support to a particular cause. Here, these young people see Dr. Enang, who has inspired them for the PDP and Umo Eno as a bridge, rallying point, ladder, fulcrum and leverage they can rest upon, and bank on for a turn around in their own lives.
The truth is, young people themselves know, that as a game of interest which politics is, they can trust and bank on Dr. Wisdom Patrick Enang when the PDP emerges victorious on March 11.
This trust and belief is founded, grounded and rooted in Engr. Enang’s antecedents of charity, philanthropy, love, care, brotherhood, kindness and humanity.
For several years now, he has privately offered the young people a financial live line, which has seen many of them through tertiary levels of education, paid medical bills, offered them jobs, connected them to their dreams, imparted wisdom gotten from his vast global exposure and education, fed many, and continues to do so regularly.
As it stands, for Dr. Enang’s sake, numerous young people across the State, have willingly decided to support the PDP and all its Candidates. How gratifying!
Youth for Change Initiative seeks partnership with stakeholders to avert electoral violence
This self-denying brotherhood of numerous years has consequently created a large, trusted and an unprecedented following which will benefit the PDP at the Guber Elections on March 11. As one beneficiary of Dr. Wisdom Patrick Enang’s benevolence, l happily key into his “GO FORWARD” initiative for the People’s Democratic Party, and l, Mr Sampson Enyongekere and members of my family, shall consciously advocate and vote for the PDP Candidates across board by March 11.
