Healthy Life Development Initiative (HELDi), a Non-Governmental Organization, has hosted multi stakeholders’ meeting on the impact of Environmental Pollution and Adaptation Processes for Physically Challenged/Marginalized Women in Rivers State. The Stakeholders’ meeting funded by Global GreenGrants fund, was held on January 16, for Umuechem and Abara communities of Etche LGA, at Breath Life Hotel, Igwuruta, Rivers State. National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP), has rescued a-six month old Akwa Ibom child sold to a syndicate who claimed to own an orphanage in Imo state. The agency is said to have stormed Imo state on Wednesday March 13, on a rescue operation following a tip off by a concerned citizen of the state. Ifim Ibom Ibibio Advisory Council has called on the Akwa Ibom state government not to jitter out in the present brouhaha surrounding Akwa Ibom Traditional Rulers Council Law Cap 155, insisting that the law does not in anyway carpet any tribe as second or third class citizen. Hensek Integrated Services Limited in partnership with the Nigerian Medical Association, NMA, has launched free medical and surgical outreach in Oron. The 10th edition of the free medical outreach which began on Monday, February 12 at the General Hospital, Iquita Oron, has so far recorded 19 successful surgeries. The 5-day well packed exercise is currently engaging most topnotch medical experts under the NMA fold.
