Fishers from coastal communities in Akwa Ibom and Cross River states have raised alarm over worsening oil pollution, sea piracy, and rising operational costs, saying the challenges are crippling livelihoods and threatening fish stocks in the Niger Delta. The concerns were voiced on 27 March during an exchange visit involving fishers from Ibeno in Akwa Ibom State and Eserebom community in Calabar South Local Government Area of Cross River State.
