A new chapter in the history of TEEVES International Schools was written in colour, culture, and celebration as the school hosted its maiden SS3 send-forth ceremony—a landmark event that captured the heart of education, excellence, and community spirit.
The dazzling ceremony, held at the school’s playgrounds, radiated joy and pride as parents, guardians, dignitaries, and stakeholders in education gathered to honour the pioneer graduating students, who have been described as “Class of Eagles.”
Draped in a ceremonious outfit and bright smiles, the graduating students marched in to a standing ovation by colleagues and other guests—ushering in a day marked by heartfelt speeches, brilliant performances, emotional tributes, and groundbreaking announcements.
In her address, Mrs. S . Okon, the visionary Director of TEEVES International Schools, offered more than a welcome—she delivered a testament to resilience, purpose, and triumph. She chronicled the school’s meteoric rise over the past four years, from a modest dream to a nationally recognized citadel of learning.

“In just four years, TEEVES has attained milestones that take many institutions decades to achieve,” she declared, her voice a mix of conviction and gratitude. “We have secured full accreditation from both WAEC and NECO, and our students are already distinguishing themselves nationally.”
A moment of pride rippled through the crowd when she highlighted the school’s top performance in the recent JAMB examination, where a student scored an impressive 320—a feat that placed TEEVES among the top-performing schools in the nation.
Looking ahead, Mrs. Okon announced a transformative step in the school’s evolution—the introduction of a separate boarding school arm beginning from the next academic session. This, she said, will offer parents and students a choice between the already thriving day school and a full boarding experience tailored for holistic education and character development.
“We are building a school that accommodates the diversity of parental needs and student growth paths,” she said. “The boarding school will be a nurturing home away from home, fostering deeper discipline, time management, and community spirit, without mingling with the day students”
In a remarkable show of goodwill and community service, TEEVES also revealed its plan to host free summer lessons for students across junior and senior classes, aimed at reinforcing learning and reducing the academic gap during the long vacation. In addition, a robust four-week extension programme is being rolled out specifically for SS3 students to strengthen their preparation for terminal examinations.
“These initiatives reflect our belief that quality education must also be accessible and continuous,” said Mrs. Okon. “We owe our parents and community this commitment.”
The emotional heartbeat of the ceremony came when Master Jireh Henry Akpan, the valedictorian and best graduating student, mounted the stage. With eloquence beyond his years, he paid glowing tribute to the school, his teachers, and his parents for shaping his journey in both intellect and character.
“TEEVES has been more than a school to me—it has been a haven, a forge, and a family,” he said, evoking a chorus of applause. “As we go forth, I carry the banner of TEEVES in my heart, and I pledge to keep its flag flying in all spheres of life.”
Tributes from Dignitaries
Distinguished personalities took turns to shower encomiums on the school. Mrs. Idongesit Etiebet, former Commissioner for Education in Akwa Ibom State and current Delivery Advisor to the Governor on Education, described TEEVES as “a beacon of moral clarity and academic excellence.”
“When the state needed a school to represent us at the international level—at the Global Science and Innovation Challenge in Singapore—TEEVES stood tall,” she said. “It is a school with not just brains, but a soul.”
Similarly, Hon. Uduak Ufot, Member representing Etinan State Constituency in the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, and The Senior Special Assistant to the governor on Brand Management and Marketing, Mr. Raphael Edem, challenged the graduating students to become lifelong ambassadors of excellence.
The ceremony was punctuated by electrifying presentations from the graduating students, underscoring the school’s commitment to holistic development.
One of the standout moments was the unveiling of the TEEVES School Magazine, an elegant publication that chronicles student achievements, academic highlights, and the school’s vision for the future.
As the sun set on the celebratory day, there was a shared sense that this was not just the end of a school year—but the beginning of a legacy.
With unwavering commitment, bold innovation, and a community-centered approach, TEEVES International Schools has positioned itself not just as a learning institution, but as a movement of excellence in Akwa Ibom State and beyond.
From accreditation to academic brilliance, and now to pioneering a dual-mode education system with both day and boarding options, TEEVES stands as proof that when vision meets dedication, transformation follows.
As the graduates tossed their caps in the air and parents beamed with pride, one thing became clear—TEEVES is not just raising students, it is raising leaders.
