The governorship hopeful also promised that his administration would restructure the education sector and devise a system that would work well for all category of students.
He added that education was one of the major objectives of his aspiration, saying that the sector would be reformed to include not only the building and reconstruction of schools but also the provision of adequate facilities and incentives to teachers and students.
“Education is the bedrock and the future of every nation. Nobody can deny that. My mission is to ensure that we rebuild and reposition our learning institutions and make them up-to-date.
“Every leader creates a vision, they have what they are passionate about. When (Godswill) Akpabio came, he talked about infrastructure. When Udom Emmanuel came, he said he would focus on industrialization. Each of them did what they did according to their vision.
“For me, that has not take care of all the sectors yet; we still have a lot to do going forward. We are coming to build on what they have done and what they didn’t do to make sure that the state is completely wired by different levels of development.
“I am very committed with a passion to making sure that Akwa Ibom takes a further step in the development paradigm so that we can occupy our rightful position in the comity of states.
“I will remain focused on my mission to turn around the fortunes of the state by harnessing our resources. My plan is to explore all the areas of possible economic prosperity and development for the benefit of our people.
“God Almighty has blessed Akwa Ibom State with abundant natural and human resources. What we need now is the right leadership. And Idorenyin Umoh is the right person”.
While declaring himself as the best hand for the most coveted seat, Umoh said that the state needs a candidate like him with good character and great business and management antecedents.
He added: “ My character and competence cannot be questioned. I have consistently proved my character and competence with my track records. My footprints in business are everywhere in the state and beyond”.
