A clergy, Pastor Udo Moses has warned contestants during the forthcoming 2023 general elections to avoid bribery and making promises they may not fulfil throughout their stay in office.
The man of God made the call while preaching to his congregants in Pastor Udo Moses Evangelical church, Liverpool road, Eket, on Sunday.
He said political office holders who love the people should rather care for them the best he can than make promises that may break their relationship if not fulfilled .
Taking his preaching from the Bible, II Samuel 2:22-30, he reminded Christians about the Biblical Eli and his family who neither obeyed God or had human feeling which led to his shameful death.
He advised political class to build up their lives in order to enjoy good relationship with their subjects.
He also stressed the need for all village heads to include members of their village especially youths in every affairs of government brought to their tables.
“It is good to be opened to youths because they are part of the future of the villages, there is need for youths and chiefs to unity and built strong villages. ” he said.
The man of God appealed to those in authority to develop members of the communities instead of using and dumping them during election.
Pastor Moses lauded the Udom led administration for creating an enabling environment which attracted industries to the state. He advised youths who are yet to do so to key into the dakkaka philosophy and shun lifestyle that may lead to destruction.
He frowned at companies who refuse to employ skilled labours in the state and charged those in the position of project monitoring to use their office to ensure that youths in projects locations are fully engaged .
In his statement on the just concluded fathers’ day celebration, the man of God described a father as someone who is in charge of the affairs in the family,a leader who provides for his household according to the scripture.
During his sermon, pastor Moses also presented what he called ‘ten point prophetic words’ which he prophesied that the APC may miss many of his supporters , top names in the country may passed away, unknown gunmen may intensify their evil attack, to mention but few.
In his closing sermon , he advised youths to devote more time in doing God’s will this according tom him will build a protective shield against evil light that may beam on their leaders instead of destroying properties they worked for.
