As the build up towards the 2023 general elections gathers momentum, a frontline aspirant, Prince Aniefiok Okon Dick Attah formally declared interest to vie for Nsit Atai State Constituency seat in the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly.
Attah, an Aide to Governor Udom Emmanuel on Project Monitoring made the disclosure, recently, when he played host to the entire youth structures of Nsit Atai extraction in his residence, Uyo.
Prince Attah while thanking the entire youth for honouring his invitation even at a very short notice. He assured them of his desire and sincerity of purpose in delivering an all inclusive and a robust representation when given the mandate to represent Nsit Atai State Constituency.
“Today, I invited the youth of Nsit Atai here to intimate you about my aspirations to vie for the seat of the Honourable Member representing Nsit Atai State Constituency, Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly in the forthcoming general elections. Please I solicit for your unflinching support to ensure my victory.”
Speaking about the succession plan of his boss, the Governor’s Aide reiterated his resolve to support any candidate deemed fit by His Excellency to succeed him as the next Governor from 2023.
Setting out machineries to see to the smooth campaign processes, Prince Attah appointed Hon. Chrysanthus Okon as the Director General (DG) of his Campaign Organization with a charge on him to use his wealth of political experience as the immediate past Nsit Atai Chapter Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to oversee the successful and victorious campaign organization.
In his acceptance speech, the Director General of the Campaign Organization, Hon. Chrysanthus Okon thanked the 2023 House of Assembly Hopeful for deeming him fit to steer the Campaign Organization with the assurances that he will be steadfast and dedicated to his responsibilities.
“In all sincerity, I have accepted the appointment as the Director General of this campaign organization. I promise to galvanise enormous support to ensure that come 2023, Prince Aniefiok Attah will emerge successful in the election,” Okon assured.
In his remarks, the Secretary of Nsit Atai Local Government Council, Mr. Sunday Udia said that Prince Attah is a force to reckon with in politics and have been dedicated and steadfast, hence, it is pertinent for him to reap the fruits of his labour.
Other youth who spoke in support of Attah’s aspiration included; Hon. Ekpenyong Harry – Deputy Leader, Nsit Atai Legislative Council; Hon. Aniebiet Cornelius Johnson (Ward 10); Hon. Okon Jackson (Ward 8); Hon. Aniekan Usen, Former Leader, Nsit Atai Legislative Council; Hon. Edet George Tom, former Deputy Leader, Nsit Atai Legislative Council; Prince Eyo Peter Okon, Chairman, Nsit Youth Council; Mr. Robson Akwa, Former PDP Chapter Youth Leader; Hon. Linus William; Hon. Hon Godstime; Hon. Samuel Ibanga; Mr. Edidiong Christopher; Mr Johnny Udo; Hon. Emmanuel Johnny; amongst others.
They individually described Attah as the right man for the job. They noted that his antecedents as the Special Assistant to the Governor is top notch.
For the sake of equity, justice and good conscience, the youths collectively reaffirmed their stand that it is the turn of Ibedu Group of Villages to produce the next House of Assembly Member to represent Nsit Atai State Constituency from 2023, hence, their massive endorsement of Prince Aniefiok Attah whom they described as the most competent man for the position.
In attendance were political stakeholders; Miss Peace Frank, Special Assistant to the Governor on Project Monitoring; youth leaders; political office holders and cross section of youth in the 10 political wards of the area.
High point of the meeting was the endorsement of Prince Aniefiok Attah by the entire youth structure to aspire for the seat of Honourable Member representing Nsit Atai State Constituency as an Ibedu son.
